We've heard about them, too, but they're few and far between. Think of them as unicorns. We hear about them and they sound perfect, but we rarely actually lay our hands on them.

 

There are grants for both start up and existing businesses in specialty areas. Here in Vermont, specialty agricultural grants exist with the state, and there are some grants available for technology-related businesses.

• Fundera - a loan match-making site. They have a great blog about all-things-start-up that's definitely worth looking into.
