In Getting Serious, you'll discover if business ownership is right for you, examine and expand your business idea(s), clarify your entrepreneurial and business related skills, and create an action plan for next steps.
You'll leave the class knowing whether now is the right time for you to start a business. You'll also have a support network, an action plan, and a bunch of resources to get you started.
In the course, you'll cover:
-
Skills inventory
-
Brainstorming and expanding business ideas

Sourcing business ideas
-
Identifying a niche
-
Reality-filtering your idea given your personal, income, and career goals

Do you have to have a business idea to attend the class?
No way! Many students enter Getting Serious knowing they’d like to explore starting a business, but aren’t sure what business they’d start. This class will help you to formulate business ideas that might work for you. If you already have a business idea, this class will help you to focus your idea. All students will leave the class with the tools and resources to determine if business is right for them in their lives.
Note: This class does not teach the full business plan. This is an introduction to the business planning process. Though the outline of a business plan will be introduced, students will not leave the class having completed a business plan. Check out our 'Start Up' class if you have a solid business idea that you're looking to start.
